  • QA / Testing Intern

    About the Role

    This role would suit someone looking to start their career in QA, working across diverse digital projects within a friendly and collaborative agency environment.
    Based in our London studio, this role is integral to ongoing testing and maintenance of Catch’s exciting digital work across clients from a variety of industries, ranging from third sector organisations to global payment providers.

    This role would sit within our multi-disciplined development team, reporting to the QA Engineer and Tech Director.

    • Ongoing testing of existing sites
    • Bug ticket entry and completion of test runs to ensure smooth deployment of new features / projects
    • Work with the QA Engineer to create test plans
    • Provide test exit reports (using TestRail) to Client Services team

    Requirements 

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • A good understanding of mobile, tablet and desktop devices
    • The ability to familiarise with new projects and feature elements quickly
    • A logical and thorough approach to completing assigned tasks
    • A good working knowledge of Google applications
    • An excellent eye for detail

  • Front-End Developer

    About the Role

    Catch is digital creative agency based in Central London. We specialise in the design and development of transformative digital products for our clients.
    Our strong technical foundation underpins our entire creative process, and development is built in from project inception through to final delivery in a truly collaborative fashion.

    • Front End Developer based on-site in our London office
    • 3 years (post-grad) professional Front End Experience
    • Integral in the production of new client projects + the smooth running of existing ones
    • Part of a multi-disciplined development team, reporting to Tech Director

    Requirements

    You’ll be strongly proficient in...

    • HTML5 and accessibility best practice
    • CSS, OOCSS, BEM, SMACSS, SASS, LESS etc
    • JavaScript, jQuery, MVC / MVVM frameworks
    • Build tools and dependency management as part of a CI architecture
    • Working with back end developers to deliver bespoke interfaces for clients
    • Working across systems and frameworks, and writing code that can be rolled out across brand assets
    • Writing clean, testable, reusable and documented code
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
    • Bringing new ideas and techniques to the team
    • Rapid prototyping of ideas, prioritising unknowns and finding work arounds / fallbacks where necessary
    • Working within a team of designers and developers and bridging the gap to ensure smooth delivery of website projects
    • Maintaining and documenting code to ensure it is reusable, extensible and easy understand for other developers

    Highly Desirable...

    • Atomic / Component based front end development
    • Style guide generators
    • Experience with Angular, React and similar

  • Creative Lead

    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced Creative Lead to join our tight-knit cross-disciplined creative team. You'll have gleaned your experience agency side, operating as a digital native you'll be fluent in digital-first multi-channel creative solutions.

    This exciting opportunity offers opportunity for both hands-on design, and creative direction.

    You’ll bring an entrepreneurial view to creative challenges, and have a wide range of skills and interests along with a successful track record in designing rich user experiences across websites, interfaces applications and social channels for a wide range of brands.

    Alongside producing design work yourself, you will be tasked with leading on big design ideas and working to help create successful creative strategies for a wide range of client projects, so a keen knowledge of cutting edge digital technology, products and services is key.

    We’re looking for an individual who can demonstrate industry leading experience across a range of digital mediums; responsive design, mobile, apps, digital products and social campaigns.

    Requirements

    You should be a highly creative Creative Lead who can demonstrate:

    • 3 years + agency experience as a Digital Designer with 2+ years in a creative leadership role
    • Impressive portfolio of work showing UI design
    • Strong in conceptualising big ideas and leading on designing digital experiences across different platforms
    • Leadership of the collaboration between UX, UI and Front-end Dev teams to create enriching experiences
    • Guru knowledge of Adobe CC, Sketch, Principle etc
    • In depth knowledge of the effect of human behaviour on social media, user-experience design processes and technology on design solutions

    SOFT SKILLS

    • An excellent team player, and an effective collaborator
    • Ability to give clear, innovative design direction
    • Excellent, refined attention to detail
    • Ability to produce compelling creative presentations to present design solutions
    • Confident in presenting/justifying design direction to clients
    • Keen follower of design and technology trends

    • 5 years (post-grad) professional agency/client-side experience
    • Integral in the production of new client projects + the smooth running of existing ones
    • Part of a team of 10+ multidisciplinary development team contributing to open source web projects, reporting to Tech Director
    • Project leadership from a technical perspective
    • Mentorship of junior team members

    Requirements

    Key Skills...

    • Experience working with MVC frameworks such as Symfony & Laravel
    • Strong understanding of key principles of object oriented programming
    • Experience in architecting CMS based websites that work for both users and website admins
    • Experience creating and consuming Web Services using both SOAP & REST APIs
    • Good database knowledge including MySQL / PostgreSQL
    • Writing clean, testable, reusable and well documented code
    • Agile/Scrum methodologies, using project management tools such as JIRA
    • Client facing, strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

    • Devops skills, including configuring Linux, Apache, Nginx, Varnish, Memcache etc

    • Use of deployment and automation tools such as Ansible / Jenkins / Travis
