Hymans Robertson have a comprehensive internal IT team dedicated to developing their pensions products. In house, they were developing a new defined benefit contributions tool for one of their clients, and required consultancy from experts on user experience design and creative design. The target market being of pensionable age, care had to be taken to ensure the site was as accessible as possible to those with visual impairment.
Working alongside our offline partner Ferrier Pearce, Catch built a prototype of the site in W3C standards compliant templates with triple A compliance, enabling Hyman Robertson's internal team to skin their development quickly and easily. The site featured pensions modelling tools and secure members areas, all accessible to the highest degree.
The site was rolled out by Hymans Robertson for their client Johnston Press. It won the award for best website design at the Professional Pensions 2008 awards, one of the highest accolades available in pensions marketing. The awards were presented at a gala dinner last London’s Park Lane Hilton by broadcaster and former Conservative cabinet minister Michael Portillo.
Needless to say all involved were delighted with the look and feel, not to mention accessibility of their new application, and the award was testament to this.
