Objective

In the run-up to Christmas La Senza required an effective online marketing campaign to increase brand awareness, drive sales and launch their seasonal range of sexy lingerie.

Ordinarily La Senza produce their online advertising in-house, this was to be the first time that La Senza has entrusted an external agency to design and produce their ads. Media agency Blowfish Digital handled the media buying, ensuring our ads were placed in front of the right audience.

Solution

La Senza's statistics from previous Christmas show that in the run up to the big day traffic to the site is equally split, male and female. Those men buying for their partners, and women buying for festive parties or gifts for friends and relatives. We produced two distinct sets of ads, one aimed squarely at getting men to click through, and the other aimed at gaining female clicks.

Our male orientated ads involved a sexy "unwrapping" of a model wearing La Senza's sexy lingerie with the tagline "will she unwrap something you both want this Christmas?". The female ad concept was inspired from the magazine culture of giving gift ideas in the run up to Christmas, a simple way of displaying different products in one go.

Result

We certainly proved that sex(y) sells. Our creative had a CTR of 176% over creative produced in-house for La Senza, proving to be one of the most successful campaigns in terms of driving traffic to the website our client has ever enjoyed.
