Orange required an interactive touch-screen application they could use in-store to help the customers learn more about their new Livebox wireless broadband product.
Catch had carte blanche to develop the design and movement of the interface based on the existing offline brand. In association with digital video agency First Image and Fujitsu Services, and working within Orange's stringent brand guidelines, this touch-screen was designed and developed in Flash to be engaging, informative and fun.
The interface allows the user (using only their fingers) to fully explore the environment. Users can view the latest movie trailers, watch download simulations, surf to featured websites as well as learn about the Orange broadband contract. Behind the scenes some complex JavaScript allows Fujitsu and Orange to track exactly each session, who clicked on what and who spent how long where.
Fujitsu supplied the touch-screen hardware and had also developed a back end for tracking the users movements.
We worked together on the Javascript code to allow Orange, at a glance, to see who pressed which button when. Passing the values and timings from Flash to their code.
Want to know how long that last user spent watching the Hot Fuzz trailer? Not a problem, all taken care of in the secure "For Orange's eyes only" back end.
The installation enjoyed success in an initial five Orange Stores, since then it has experienced a nationwide roll-out, and can now be seen enticing customers to sign up to Orange’s broadband offering in stores up and down the country.
Orange offers a range of broadband packages for new and existing customers. The Livebox gives Orange's customers the freedom to enjoy wireless broadband.
