SES is the world-leading satellite operator; the company connects and enables broadcast, telecom, corporate and government customers, and enriches the lives of billions of people worldwide.


During 2016 SES undertook a major brand repositioning with brand agency venturethree, aiming to increase recognition of the breadth, depth and flexibility of their global capabilities, going beyond satellites to offer more ground services.

Our brief was to create a digital brand experience that reflected this ambitious brand repositioning. They needed a new website to provide an intuitive user experience for a varied and demanding global audience alongside showcasing the new brand to the world.

We were responsible for the entirety of the website project – from digital strategy, UX and visual design to technical development.


After an intense discovery phase at SES’s HQ in Luxembourg – interviewing both stakeholders and users – Catch undertook an iterative building process in close collaboration with the client. This allowed the team to validate ideas iteratively and gave the client full transparency into the project progress.

Alongside SES, the Catch project team worked closely with branding consultancy venturethree to ensure the new website was part of a unified experience.

The scale and complexity of the new site and content meant the site was built with a modular approach and hosted by Acquia, the leading cloud platform provider. The site uses the latest version of Drupal 8, and both Catch and Acquia worked in close partnership to ensure the site build and infrastructure is resilient and scalable.
