Steer Davies Gleave felt their existing website was beginning to feel outdated, and that the business had outgrown the platform the site was originally built on. They required the ability to grow and improve the website by adding searchable content, expanding the visibility of their international operations and integrating social media for a more engaging user experience.
Multi-language functionality had to be included as the business was expanding in Latin America and the business had plans to expand in other non-English speaking territories.
With the existing web platform built on outdated proprietary technology we proposed migrating the website onto the open-source Drupal platform to facilitate a stable and future-proof solution, allowing the website to expand as the business expanded into new territories.
Firstly we consolidated the content, taking the opportunity to restructure the website into key business areas, adding the facility to have geo-located content to present the business' local markets. We worked with SDG to develop key user journeys for their wide-ranging and complex target audience groups.
The site was given a complete design overhaul. We also integrated new content areas such as "News & Insights"; extending the scope of the website to better reflect SDG's wide-ranging set of services on the global market and to cement them as thoughtleaders in the field of international transport consultancy.
- Built using the Drupal multisite platform
- Multi-language build with geo-located country specific content
- Full integration with Salesforce
The case studies now act as far more powerful sales messages with the integration of YouTube videos, and enables the user to refine their selection by transport mode, service, client type and/or region. The overview pages with information tailored to the four key individual audience types afford the user the most relevant amount of information with the least amount of clicks.
We are continuing to work with Steer Davies Gleave in 2012 on a range of other projects. Watch this space.
